Hays Ellisen was born in Rochester, New York but grew up and attended high school in Appleton, Wisconsin. Hays attended college at the University of Minnesota, in Minneapolis, graduating summa cum laude in 1993 with a BA, majoring in Philosophy and minoring in the Norwegian language. After graduating from Michigan Law School in 1996, Hays clerked for Judge Patricia S. Curley for the State of Wisconsin Court of Appeals located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Hays then moved to New York City, and began to work for various “big-law” corporate law firms, including Sidley Austin LLP and Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, specializing in corporate securities and investment management matters. From 2010 to the present, Hays has focused his practice on representing individuals and small to midsize companies with a variety of business law matters.
Since 2019, Hays has worked and lived in the West Side of Los Angeles, California.
